A Victorian treasure in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, the Upham Hotel and Country House is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Santa Barbara. Constructed of redwood with sweeping verandas, the 50-room 1871 landmark is surrounded by an acre of gardens and combines the intimacy of a bed and breakfast with the convenience of a full-service hotel and conference facility. The hotel is one mile from the beach and two blocks off of State Street.

Take your pick from one of 50 special guest rooms, all clean and comfortable, but each unique in character and decor. The Upham's peaceful cottages and lush gardens attract guests looking for tranquility and a little romance. A Continental Plus breakfast is included with room rate and is served from 7:30 to 11:00 am in the breakfast dining area. Additional food services included in room rate are a wine and cheese reception, fruit, and non-alcoholic beverages. The guest rooms feature bath robes, ceiling fan, coffee/tea facilities, a private entrance, radio, ironing board, satellite/cable TV.

Louie's California Bistro is tucked away on the ground floor of the historic Upham Hotel, and is a must when in Santa Barbara and wanting some great food in a friendly yet elegant atmosphere. It has maintained the very special dining experience with the menu and food staying consistent through the years and has been described as California comfort food served with an elegant flair.

At the Upham Hotel, meetings, conference and banquets become experiences, not just events. Three Executive Board Rooms and an airy Garden Room accommodate up to 60 people each.
